We are an Australian business that has been sourcing fabrics and designing patterns for quilting projects since 1997.

In those early days our children were small and life was quite demanding. It was hard to find time for our sewing and designing and so we decided on the name ‘Runaway Quilts’ because with quilting, we could run away for a little bit of creative time without leaving home.

As time has gone on we are like most quilters, with our lives like a fabric made of many threads - quilting, family, friendships and other work, all woven together with laughter and tears, prayers and hopes.

We have always loved bright, bold colours. And so in time we discovered and came to love Kaffe Fassett Collective fabrics for their wonderful designs - glorious colour, beautiful florals and striking geometric prints.

We love the soft pastels, the hot reds and pinks, deep purples, cool greens and blues and sunny golds, because they stir our imagination to envisage new projects, or invite us just to lose ourselves in the looking.

In earlier times we have had a store on Ebay, with 100% positive feedback since 2005, and 1.3K fabric items sold. (Note feedback profile below). But eventually in 2024 it came time to create this, our own site in our own style, specialising in the fabrics of the Kaffe Fassett Collective designs.

Our aim is to make these wonderful fabrics available and accessible to all.
